Linda Martin, artist and writer, was born in Sydney and now lives at Wentworth Falls. Although Linda works with pencil, acrylics and watercolour, in 1999 she began exploring the medium of digital design.
She became a member of WEBISM…Art Connecting the World and in 2000 represented Australia at India’s first International Digital Art Exhibition at the Oxford Gallery Calcutta and the Nehru Gallery Mumbai.
In 2001 she won third place in MOCA’s digital art contest. In the same year, at the invitation of Pygoya (Dr Rodney Chang, Hawaii), held her first solo exhibition. Prints of her digital work were hung at the SOKI International Exchange exhibition at the Gallery Wooduk, Seoul, Korea.
In both 2003 and 2005 Linda won first prize in the computer-generated section, Port Macquarie’s Annual Art Show.
Linda has certificates in fine art and information technology and in 2005 was awarded a full residential scholarship to study botanical illustration at Charles Sturt University (Mitchell College). In 2008 she completed, with distinction, a TAFE course in Writing and Editing Skills and in 2009 created the images for David Malikoff’s performance of Mark O’Connor’s ‘Planting the Dunk Botanic Gardens’, Adelaide Festival.
