Adrian Gilbert has been pursuing his artistic vocation for nearly 40 years. His work has always been diverse – reflecting a restless and creative intellect which acknowledges few boundaries.
“What will become of me?” he cries as he launches into yet another reinvention of himself as ‘artist’. But then he finds some sort of aesthetic or intellectual sustenance which confirms the most important lesson he’s learned in all these years: “the artist is a mere conduit through which potentials express themselves – he is not a ‘master’ of anything!”
Neverthless, with a few more years experience, Adrian fully expects to master the Duchampian antithesis: “..stupid as a painter”. In the meantime, you can find more of his work at the above studio/gallery and website addresses.
