The layers of paint on a canvas, to me are as representational of emotion as they are of the detailed image that settles onto the surface. I first apply acrylic washes with colours that suit my mood, and then let the colours flow freely together. As I build layers with richer oil colours, an image such as a bird or fish brings a deeper expression to the whole picture.
I studied Fine Arts at York University in Toronto, Canada, and for many years divided my time between graphic design work and painting. A passion for travel has led me around the world, painting and exhibiting in Canada, Thailand and Australia.
