JAMES BLACKWELL VISUAL ARTIST

James creates his artwork from natural materials found from the Australian bush and reconfigures them into meditative assemblages and grids onto handmade paper and other supports. They are tranquil, intimate and a statement about silence, impermanence and the transitory nature of existence. The subtley of colour imbued through the work ties in with the range of tones experienced here in the mountains and memory of landscape experienced in the Southern Highlands.

James Blackwell is an Honours Graduate from the National Art School in Sydney and has had a varied and extensive exhibiting history.
