In 2007, Nadia relocated to the Blue Mountains to pursue her artistic practice and is currently working from her studio in the Mid-mountains.
Nadia’s artistic practice is based on the belief that one is surrounded by a world of beauty and it is the artist’s interpretation and re-representation of this world that inspires the creation of artworks. Nadia’s images are inspired by nature, the surrounding environment and personal experiences, which aim to engage the audience to see the ordinary in a new light.
Nadia’s chosen medium is printmaking. It allows for the exploration of multiple layers, textural qualities and tangible surfaces. As an expressive form, printmaking, with its highly structured technical process juxtaposed with the unexpected qualities of experimentation, suits the artist’s temperament.
While engaging in a fulfilling art teaching career Nadia recently began to exhibit her own artworks in 2006 at the Parramatta Heritage Centre.
In 2007, Nadia was awarded a Highly Commended in the Blackheath Art Prize, Winter Exhibition and won second place in the Blackheath Art Prize, Open Spring Exhibition. In 2008, Nadia was judged Runner Up in the Winmalee Autumn Artfest and was awarded a Commended in the Blackheath Winter Open Art Exhibition.
