Robyn Collier is an artist in the relalist tradition – specialising in Wilderness and World Heritage areas. She is a keen bushwalker and traveller preferring to paint areas that are difficult to access. This, she believes is where the most beautiful spots are to be found – such as the Artists Pool – a days wilderness walk at Cradle Mountain, or the Thorsborne Trail – a 4 day walk on Hinchinbrook Island.
Robyn has been painting for over 30 years and now has her studio in Springwood in the mid Blue Mountains.
She has won many awards and her paintings hang in many prestigious places worldwide such as Barkley’s Bank, Cambridge University, P&O Resorts, Japanese Consul, Sydney Water and the Great Southern Railways – Indian Pacific.
She has made five television appearances – The Great Outdoors, Denise Drysdale Show, Sydney weekenders, Australian Lives and Compass.
Robyn has also been the guest of many Island Resorts in order to paint including: Lizard Island, Hinchinbrook Island, Silky Oaks Resort, Coconut Beach resort, Cradle Mountain Lodge Resort and many others.
She is also an avid environmentalist, raising money through her art for animal and environmental causes. She is a member of the Blue Mountains Conservation Society, The Wilderness Society, The Humane Society and The Australian Guild of Realist Artists, and the Australian Conservation Society.
She has held over 20 exhibitions and is now travelling within Australia and overseas as an Art Tutor for special workshops.
Robyn’s philosophy is simple – to reflect the awsome beauty of nature in her paintings. She captures the feeling and light of wild places like no other. She believes it is vitally important to follow your own journey as a creative person – wherever that may take you. For Robyn that has taken her on may exciting adventures around Australia and New Zealand.
Her work may be viewed at Katoomba Fine Art, Boyd Gallery Narellan, John and Angie’s Art W.A. Independent Auctioneers, and Robyn Collier Art – online.
