Christine Hyde

Christine moved to Springwood in the Blue Mountains  from the Eastern Suburbs 15 years ago for her planned 'tree-change'.  Christine has drawn and painted forever and now the subject matter of her artworks primarily take inspiration from her immediate and local bush surrounds as well as the images captured en plein air and otherwise during her frequent travels to regional and southern France and particularly her stays in the eclectic Paris ‘burbs. Christine has a cosy studio purpose-built on her property on the edge of natural bush, banksias, boulders and eucalypts.  The studio has a comfy sofa for visitors and her Gallery can be visited strictly by appointment.

Christine mainly enjoys painting in acrylic on large compositions however she loves the spontenaity of watercolour, drawing using charcoal, dipping pen and ink.  She has successfully exhibited in recent local shows and was recipient of a'Highly Commended' award for her painting in The Edge Gallery Autumn Exhibition.  She received 2nd prize in 'Acrylics Any Subject Class' at The 2016 Penrith Show. She was one of three BMAN artists invited to participate in  'Confluence', an exhibition held at Nolan on Lovel Contemporary Fine Art Gallery, Katoomba in September/October 2016.

Christine is one of 10 BMAN artists selected to showcase their art in an Exhibition 'If These Walls Could Speak' to be held at the The Woodford Academy, an historic National Trust property in early 2017. Christine was delighted to be part of the exhibition "Summer Exposure" at Braemar Gallery.   Christine has commissioned works for private homes in France and New South Wales.
