My influences are based in the extraordinary symmetry, colour and patterns of nature. From the fine details of an individual flower to the vast landscapes of the Australian outback.
I love the careful design process of enamelling, the painstaking preparation of the cloisonné wires and the use of colour, either soft or glowing to produce a jewel like finish.
I work through a range of techniques, stenciling, dusting, wet inlay, cut outs, brushwork and my favorite cloisonné. My preferred method is to use transparent enamel over fine silver foil on copper. This adds a depth and life to the finished piece that is normally found in nature.
I usually mount my jewelley pieces in hand-made fine silver findings.
I teach enamelling either to individuals or in small classes.
